Bama Baby!

Colton is ready for football season!! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Colton's 4 Month Checkup

We went to the doctor's office yesterday afternoon for Colton's 4 month checkup. He got 4 shots while there, but he handled them like a champ!! A little crying but nothing that mommy couldn't calm him down from. And of course, his bottle helped as well. He now weighs 17.3 lbs (in the 75 percentile) and is 26.6. inches long (in the 90 percentile). Dr. Buettner says that he is growing right along schedule, and looks like he may even be a tall boy. (Where in the world did this child come from -- Haha.) Well, Chris' grandfather and my grandfather were both tall men so I guess it's possible.

Colton is now taking 36 ounces a day of formula (6 ounces every 3 to 4 hours) and is eating cereal and fruits twice a day. He loves bananas and applesauce and we are looking forward to trying some new fruits this week as well. As you can see, this child LOVES to eat! He is also sleeping great through the night as well. He goes to sleep around 8:30 or 9pm and then sleeps all night until around 6:30 or 7:00am. I'm so blessed to have such a great little baby!

We also introduced him this past weekend to his Little Einstein Jumper and Activity Center that Aunt Melinda and Aunt Janice bought for him. He absolutely loves it!!! Chris thought he was a little small for it, but mommy was convinced that he was big enough and even put it together by herself!! He loves all the bright colors and even though he can't quite reach the floor with his legs, I know that pretty soon he'll be jumping all day long in it.

Highlights of this month:
  • He started eating bananas and applesauce this month. He loves them!!! We started out eating them for breakfast with cereal and we have now started giving them to him at night time before his last bottle for the night.
  • He is now rolling over both ways
  • He loves to watch TV. He can lay in front of the TV for hours watching cartoons.
  • He adores his dad and will laugh at him for no particular reason.
  • He is still a great sleeper! He sleeps at least 9 hours every night.
  • He had his first beach trip to Orange Beach, Alabama.

Rolling Over

Colton rolled over from his back to his stomach for the first time Sunday. He's been rolling over from his stomach to his back for a while but this was the first time the other way. Now, he is rolling over all the time. Changing diapers and putting on his clothes is getting more difficult with all of his activity. Haha!! If I can ever figure out how to post videos, I'll put some up ASAP.

Swimming in the pool wore him out! He literally took about a 2 hour nap each time after swimming. Most of the time, he fell asleep while in the pool because he would get so relaxed!

Favorite Quotes and Bible Verses

In this stressful world,
Yours is the presence that quiets me,
The voice that calms me,
The touch that comforts me
The love that helps me remember what is most important in each day.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails." - I Corinthians 13:4-8

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow… Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevails against him, two shall withstand him, and a threefold core is not quickly broken. ~ Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

My thoughts are completely different from yours", declares the Lord. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine." ~ Isaiah 55:8

"Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart." ~ Psalm 37:4

"I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly." ~ John 10:10

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" -Philippians 4:13

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and will bring you back from captivity. -Jeremiah 29:11-14

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. 1 Peter 3:15

Then Jesus said," Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will fin rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light." Matthew 11:28-30

"Be glad for all God is planning for you. Be patient in trouble, and always be prayerful." Romans 12:12

We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps."-Proverbs 16:9

"Those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, and they will walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

"We will not compare ourselves with each other as if one of us were better and another worse. We have far more important things to do with our lives. Each of us is an original." -Galatians 5:26
