Things I Want to Remember

Here are a few things that I noticed over the weekend that I want to remember about Colton.
  • He will not eat the crust of bread. (just like mommy). I fixed him a grilled cheese sandwich the other day and he ate everything except the crust.
  • He loves to play with puppies!
  • He loves M&M's
  • He prefers regular milk over chocolate milk

Update on Tubes

I can already tell a huge difference in Colton since he had tubes last Tuesday. He is already saying a ton of new sounds and he is now saying "bye bye" and "mama". Yesterday was the first time that I noticed him saying "bye bye".

19 Months

WOW! I can't belive my child is 19 months already! The past few months have flown by and I hate they are going by so fast. Colton continues to be the sweetest little boy with a ton of energy! There is no doubt about it that he is ALL BOY! The older he gets he looks more and more like his daddy and he is soooo cute!

Highlights from the past month:

  • His favorite toys this past month: Trucks, Car and Tricycle (That he rides on), Blocks, Books and Buz Lightyear

  • His favorite cartoons this month: Sid the Science Kid, Veggie Tales

  • His favorite foods this month: Applesauce, Popsicles, Oranges, Mac & Cheese, Fish Sticks, M&M's

  • He knows when it is time to go to Granny and Papa's house in the morning and he gets so excited. Once we get there he knows exactly where to go.

  • He went to see Disney on Ice this month and loved it!

  • If he wants you to get something for him or if he wants to go somewhere with him, he will now get your finger and will take you to either what he wants or the room he wants to go in.

  • He is starting to make new sounds. "Pa", "Ma"

  • He had tubes this month! We are hoping for a huge improvement on his speech.

  • He loves the following songs: Itsy Bitsy Spider, ABC's, If You're Happy and You Know It

  • He has figured out how to climb on just about anything.

  • He loves to play in the kitchen with mommy's pots and pans.

  • He continues to like preschool and is getting better at being dropped off at school in the mornings. (We had a few hard days this month)

  • He has started shaking his head "no" when he doesn't want something.

  • He loves to snuggle and he tosses and turns in his sleep constantly.

  • He has started pulling Millie's hair this past month. We are working on breaking this habit!

Phone Conversation

Colton loves to talk on the phone! I snapped these pictures the other night while he was talking to Big Daddy and Nana. I love all the cute facial expressions!

Chris and I have to watch him with the phone, because he has called a number of people by playing with the house phone and our cell phones. The other night, Chris was gone to choir practice and Colton was playing on the phone. I realized that he had dialed a number so I hung up the phone. A few seconds later, I got a call from the Tuscaloosa Police Department saying that someone had dialed 911. I had to apologize and tell them that everything was okay and that I guess my 19 month old child had accidentally dialed the number! Haha!

Toy Box or Chair??

I had brought a box of toys for Colton to play with in the living room the other day while I was folding clothes. After a while, he decided to dump all the toys out of the box and get into it. I'm surprised he even fit!

Heading to Preschool

Colton loves going to preschool on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Here are a few pictures of him last week before heading out the door.
He is growing up soooo fast and is getting so tall!

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...

A few Saturdays ago, Colton and I put the Christmas tree up while daddy was at work. We had so much fun and Colton loved looking at all the Christmas ornaments and decorations. He even helped mommy put a few ornaments on the tree. Later on in the day, he did however want to take the ornaments off the tree which resulting in the tree almost falling over. Since then, he has been pretty good about not touching the tree or the ornaments.

Colton's Surgery

Colton had tubes put in yesterday morning at DCH (Northport) and he did great! We had to be there by 6am and they took him back around 7:15am. He did pretty good considering he didn't get to have his morning breakfast and milk. The surgery only lasted about 6 minutes and then he was in recovery for about 10 minutes. When they brought him back to us, he wasn't in the best of moods! Poor thing, couldn't decide if he wanted to wake up or go back to sleep. After he drank his entire sippy cup of juice and we changed him back into clothes we were all ready to go. We made it back home around 9am and he was wide open until around 2:30pm. After a nap he played all night long before finally falling asleep again around 8pm.

Christmas Decorations

Last Saturday during the day, Colton and I put up the Christmas tree in our living room. Colton was a great helper, however, once the Christmas tree was up with all the ornaments on it, he wanted to take them all off. This resulting in the tree tipping over (Luckily I caught it in time before it crashed). After a few "No's and spankings, he left the tree alone for good. He loved all the lights and the bright colorful ornaments! His favorites of the day however, were the singing Mickey Mouse and Santa Claus. I think I heard those things pretty much all day long! We now have to hide them unless we want to hear them non-stop. haha!
Pictures to come soon!!

Updated on the Whitaker's

Chris, Colton and I have been super busy over the past few weeks. It seems like every weekend we have something to do. Whether it be football games, church, family dinners, etc., we are always on the go! However, we are loving every minute of it.

Update on Colton:
Colton is growing so fast right before our eyes. He is the typical BOY and loves everything that is fast! He loves cars, trucks and climbing on the furniture in our house. He loves to play outside and adores Sid the Science Kid (cartoon). He loves mommy but recently has become a daddy's boy. (However, he chooses mommy still when he is hurt or sleepy)

Update on Chris:
Chris is enjoying his new job over at Gordo First Baptist and we couldn't have asked for a better church to attend. Everyone has been so welcoming and we are feeling right at home. Chris is doing a great job and I am soooo proud of him. We are looking forward to starting the new contemporary service in Janurary and ready to see what God has in store for us.

Update on Me:
I'm loving every minute of being a wife and mommy to Chris and Colton. I'm blessed everyday that I get to spend with them!

Update on Our Families:
Big Daddy and Nana are doing great and they love getting to spend time with their favorite grandson! They continue to spoil him everyday, but that's what grandparents are for!

Granny and Pawpaw are still keeping Colton everyday and they love it! I'm sure Colton keeps them busy all day long though.

Rob and Valerie are doing good as well. However, Rob fell from a tree on Halloween and broke his leg. He has already had one surgery and is scheduled to have another one next week. It's going to be a long process to get his leg well again, so please keep him in your prayers.

Pictures with Santa

I took Colton yesterday to have pictures with Santa in Moulton, Al. He woke up a little fussy yesterday morning, but I figured he would be better by lunch time (when we were taking pictures). We made the 2.5 hour drive to Moulton and I had to wake Colton up when it was time to go inside. Poor thing, just wasn't in the mood to take pictures. He wasn't too sure about Santa either, and wouldn't sit in his lap this year. I was so upset that he wasn't feeling good, but maybe next year he will be in a better mood. Here are the ones that Heather got of him yesterday.

Sens De Vie World Tour

A few weeks ago, one of our friends, Heath Cooper, hosted the Send De Vie World Tour (The Meaning of Life) at the Bama Theater. It involved Illusionist Harris III, Don B and Everlife. It was a great event and we all had so much fun helping Heath throughout the day.

The show was AMAZING!!! Probably one of my favorite parts of the show was where Harris creates snow. Here is a great picture of part of that act!
