Cool Dude!!

Playroom Fun!!

Colton loves to play in his playroom. Here are a few pictures of him playing with some of his favorite toys.

10 Months!

Colton at 10 months

Nicknames: Coal Train, Brother, Buddy

10 Months.. Two months away from being a year old!! I’ve already started planning his birthday party and it just blows my mind that Colton is going to be 1 shortly! Oh how I miss those baby moments, but I’m loving this age the most!! He is in to everything and he loves to explore the house! He is experiencing new things everyday and he is just the happiest little boy!

Here are some highlights from the past month:
  • We’re still trying to get Colton to eat some table food. He loves ice cream, rice and mashed potatoes. Hopefully this month he will venture out and try some new things!
  • He now uses his sippy cup correctly. He has always chewed on his sippy cup but this past month he finally started just sucking on it.
  • He has found the kitchen drawers and cabinets. He loves to open and close them. Chris finally had to go and get some things to put on them the other day so that we can keep him out of the cabinets.
  • Hates getting his nose cleaned and face wiped off
  • He will now crawl to the bathtub when we tell him it’s time for a bath. While, I’m getting the water ready, he pulls up on the bathtub and starts dancing because he is so excited. (I’ve got to get this on video)
  • He can stand up by without holding onto anything for a few seconds. He gets so excited though, and he starts waving his arms which in the end makes him lose his balance.
  • He now runs behind his walker!! He is extremely fast and I have a feeling that I’m going to have my hands full within the next few weeks. He isn’t far from walking and once he figures it out, he will probably be running everywhere!
  • He has figured out how to sit from standing.
  • He loves anything that has music!
  • He loves to look at the computer and to look at pictures. He always smiles when you show him a picture.
  • He reaches for Mommy and Daddy all the time.
  • He now understands what “no” means. Most of the time when he hears you say “no” he will sit down and will look at you and will turn away from whatever he was doing before. He does however, have his moments and will do whatever he wants to no matter what we say.
  • He has started screaming at a high pitch recently. He loves to do this all the time, especially when he gets excited.
  • He has become so hard to change when he has a dirty diaper. He loves to roll over, kick his legs and throw a fit every time I try to change him.
  • He wears size 3 diapers and is in 9 to 12 month clothing.
  • Takes 24 ounces of formula a day. He also has cereal and fruit in the morning and at night time and one vegetable and fruit at lunch and dinner. He really loves to eat!
  • He sleeps from 7:30pm-6:30am! He is such a great sleeper!!

Sweet Little Boy!

Chris had to leave last night to go singing this weekend, so Colton and I were home alone all night last night. He slept much better than he had the previous night. The night before he was up about every hour crying. Finally around midnight Chris had to go to Wal-Mart to get some Tylenol for the teething baby. That seemed to help and he dosed off for a few more hours until about 6am. This morning he slept till 5am. A little earlier than usually, but I picked him up and brought him to our bed along with his morning bottle. He layed in the bed with me until he finished his bottle and then the two of us headed to the recliner to watch cartoons. We both layed there and watched Handy Mandy, Imagination Movers and the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for an hour before I finally had to make myself get up to get ready for work. He was the sweetest little boy just cuddling with mommy this morning!! Oh, how I cherish this morning!

Back from the Cruise!!

We got back from the cruise Monday afternoon! We all had such a good time and we are looking forward to our next trip together! We relaxed, sun bathed, relaxed some more, ate, watched nightly shows, and ate some more!! Honestly, every time I turned around Chris had something different to eat. He couldn't believe that you could get anything you wanted at any time during the day. We all loved the pizza, the yogurt and ice cream cones, the salad bar, the omelet bar, and dinner at night (my favorites were the melting chocolate cake and the lobster). Saturday we arrived in Cozumel, and it was beautiful!!! We all decided to take a taxi to the National Park and we went snorkeling. As soon as we got in the water, there were a ton of fish everywhere!! The current was a little strong and the water was a little chilly so we didn't last very long in the water. We stayed at the Park a few more hours and then we headed downtown to eat lunch and Pancho's Backyard and to do a little shopping!! The cruise was a great weekend trip but we missed Colton so much!! Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Whitaker, Donna, Dennis and the boys for taking such of care of him. I'm sure he was spoiled the whole weekend and that he didn't miss mommy and daddy at all!! Pictures will follow soon!!

Happy Anniversary!!

Today, Chris and I are celebrating 4 years of being married!! It's hard to believe that it's already been 4 years! The time has flown by!! The last 4 years have been wonderful and Chris and I are looking forward to the next few years as well. Having Colton last year, made me fall more and more in love with Chris and I love seeing the two of them together. Chris is such a wonderful husband and such a great daddy! Colton and I are extremely Lucky to have him in our lives!! Happy Anniversary Chris!!

Chris' New Job

Chris got a new job last week!! He will be singing full time with Mike and Kelly Bowling from Nashville, TN. Chris is soooo excited and he is looking forward to this great opportunity! We both feel that this is what God wants our family to do right now, and I am supporting Chris 100%! He turned in his notice last week at TTL, but they told him today that today will be his last day! He is super excited and is looking forward to spending more time at home during the week with Colton! Please keep him in your prayers over the next few months. We love you all and we are so thankful for you all.

Working with Mommy

Chris' dad had to go to the doctor this morning in B'Ham because they found a blood clot around his heart last Thursday. Since Chris' parents keep Colton during the day, I asked Big Daddy to keep him today so I wouldn't have to get a babysitter. Luckily, he only has to work until around 10am and then he is going to pick up Colton. So right now, Colton is sitting with me at work. He has already taken a nap, but once the phone rang, he woke right up. Now, he is playing non-stop! Hopefully, Big Daddy won't be much longer, because it's hard to get things done around here since he wants to get into everything!!

Bathtub Accident

Chris started singing this past weekend, so Colton and I had the house to ourselves Saturday night. After dinner, I loaded Colton up and we headed to the bathtub. Since he LOVES taking a bath, I figured I would let him play in the tub for about 20 minutes before getting him ready for bed. Nana had gotten him some new bath toys for Valentines Day, so I opened them up and gave them to Colton to play with. However, our plan changed rather quickly when I noticed a certain look on Colton's face. I knew right then that he was going to the restroom in the bathtub!!! By the time I grabbed him up, he had already gone and I was gagging! Haha... I've heard about this happening to other moms, but this was a first for us! After I washed him off, cleaned off his toys, and cleaned the tub, I got him ready for bed. He quickly fell asleep about 7:30pm. This was a moment I will never forget...

Cheese Puffs!!

While mommy cooks dinner and washes dishes, Colton loves to snack on Cheese Puffs!! Here are a few pictures of Colton enjoying his new favorite snack. Don't worry! This doesn't ruin his dinner. He still eats a vegetable and a fruit every night, plus oatmeal and fruit before bedtime!

1st time I gave him Cheese puffs to try.. He wasn't real sure if he wanted them or not..

He decided that his fingers were much better! haha..

2nd attempt..

YUM YUM!!

These are pretty tasty!

Another Ear Infection and 9 Month Checkup!

I took Colton yesterday to the doctor's office for his 9 month checkup. He weighed in at 23.4 lbs and was 30 inches long. He is in the 90th percentile of his weight and 95th percentile of his height!! Where in the world does he get his height from?? The doctor said that everything looked great, but that Colton still has an ear infection in his right ear. Poor little guy!! No wonder he hasn't been sleeping much the past week. On top of that he still has a cold and has some minor wheezing. We're hoping that the medicine will work this time!! I'm planning on taking him back in a couple of days just to make sure that the ear infection gets much better. Colton is a trooper though, he hasn't had a fever and he never pulls at his ears. Most of the time he wants to play and crawl everywhere in the house! Hopefully though, once the ear infection heals, his sleeping habits will get much better. The last few days have been terrible around our house! He seems to wake up every hour or so. He usually is such a great sleeper (sleeping 10 to 12 hours at night) so I think it has alot to do with his ear infection and teething. I'm hoping my little boy gets to feeling better soon!!
