  • He can now point to almost every animal, truck, fruit, etc. on all of his puzzles. We have been working on this the past few weeks and it's amazing how fast he picks it up.

  • He doesn't like bugs. At church they have a bug puzzle and he will not touch the pieces of the puzzle. The other day I had a bottle of any spray in the laundry room on the shelf and he would take me in there and point at the ant and say "ugg". (I think he is going to be like his daddy with bugs and not be too fond of them)

  • Still taking speech and special instructions class and is doing great!

  • Started school this month and is going 3 full days a week (7:30-5:15pm). He is doing great and gets so excited when we get to school in the morning. He has had a few bad days (he doesn't like to share), but his teacher (Ms. Jenn) said that he loves art, bible story time and circle time at school. He isn't eating very good at school (we are working on this) but he is doing great taking his afternoon nap there.

Colton,
You are growing up way too fast for mommy and daddy! You started school this month and you are doing so good. We've had a few bad days (you don't like to share with your friends) but other than that you love all the activities at school. You especially love the gym and you go running through it wide open in the morning time when I drop you off. I'm soooo proud of you little man! You are also improving everyday with your speech. You still get frustrated at times, but you are finally starting to communicate with us more. We love to hear your precious voice say "bye bye" and I love going over the ABC's in the car with you. You are so smart!! You also had your first haircut this month. Yes, it was hard seeing those precious curls get cut, but you still have curly hair and you look so much like your daddy now. Since daddy gets off early in the afternoons, you two have become best buds over the past few weeks. You simply adore your daddy but you still love to snuggle and be comforted by mommy. Colton, it's been a blessing watching you change and grow over the past few months. I love experiencing the new milestones with you and helping you along the way. Maybe within the next few weeks we can conquer potty training together. What do you think?? Love yo so much little man!!
Mommy

Time to Potty Train??

We haven't even started the potty training process because I just don't think Colton is ready right now. Especially since he is not talking, it's hard to communicate with him and I just feel that it will be easier if we wait until a few more months. However, last night Colton shocked Chris and I!! I was cleaning up the kitchen after dinner when Chris came and grabbed me to come and see what Colton was doing. When I peeked around the corner, there he stood in the bathroom, diaper off and standing over the toilet. He was acting like he was going to the bathroom and then he flushed the toilet. So Chris and I are thinking now that it might not be too early to start the potty training process. What to do think?

Cruise - Day 4

Day 4

Our last day on the ship was enjoyed by all! We all enjoyed the breakfast buffet, sun bathing on the top deck, lunch at the Lido deck, watched a hilarious "Not so Newlywed Game", took afternoon naps and sat in awe watching an ice carving demonstration.

He started off with a block of ice and within 30 minutes he had made an Indian Head.

A few pictures before dinner..
Yes, my husband is crazy!

This was our waiting staff for the weekend.

All in all, the cruise was a blast and was a nice relaxing weekend away from home. We missed Colton so much and we were so glad to see him Monday afternoon when we returned home.

Cruise - Day 3 (Cozumel, Mexico)

Day 3:

We arrived in Cozumel, Mexico on Saturday, August 7th. We departed the boat around 9am and headed to meet our tour guides for the day. We all decided to go on a Dune Buggy Tour around the island and it was so much fun!

Our boat, Carnival Elation (from land)

They had all types of photo booths set up around downtown Cozumel like these:

Dwayne and Janice

Janice and I made our first purchase as soon as we got off the boat. We got these cute hats for $15 each and they came in handy throughout the day. Especially that afternoon when it started to rain.

Yes, they are all applying sunscreen to each other.

Waiting on the tour to begin.

Cozumel was beautiful!! They had so many colorful stores and the plants and flowers were amazing!

And here are the Dune Buggies!!!

Janice, Dwayne and Trisha rode in one buggy, while Chris, Mom and I rode in another one.

Heading to the end of the island for a Mayan Ruin Tour, to see the crocodiles, tour the lighthouse and to relax on a private beach.

Check out how clear that water is!

We were amazed at this end of the island the water had waves and the part where we got off the ship was as still as it could be.

Crocodiles Zone!!!

I thought that we were only going to see small crocodiles, but I was wrong!!! Check out this big daddy one!!

After the crocodiles, we headed to a private beach where some people went snorkeling and others just relaxed on the beach. We all decided to get massages on the beach. I've had massages before and let me just say that this was one of the best ones I've ever had. Chris and Dwayne even decided to get one after we all raved about how great they were. (We got pictures of everyone getting a massage, but they will not be posted on here. haha)

After the massages, we had a Mexican lunch that consisted of chips, salsa and some other type of Mexican food. Let's just say it was okay but we weren't too impressed.

After lunch, we all headed back to the buggies and headed to the light house. It came a flood as soon as we got to the lighthouse and I was afraid we weren't going to be able to go up in it. Well, the rain stop and we were able to go up in it. I'm not sure if it was a good decision at the moment because the steps were slick and steep. I was the only one who ventured up to the top and I didn't even stay a minute before they told me to head back down that the rain was about to start again. The view was wonderful though and I'm so glad I went up in it.

Views from the top of the Lighthouse

Since it had rained a little bit, the roads were muddy and wet. This is what we looked liked when we got back to downtown.

SOAKED!!

We shopped for a while around downtown before heading back to the boat.

These pictures crack me up!

Once on the boat, we all grabbed a late afternoon snack (well more like a lunch) because we were starving!! Then we took naps and rested until dinner time.

The Monkey that greeted us in our room Saturday night.

All in all, Cozumel was great! The weather was perfect, even though it rained becuase it wasn't too hot and we loved getting to see the other side of the island.
