6 Month Checkup

Nana took Colton to the doctor today for his 6 month checkup. He weighed in at 20.1 lbs and was 27.6 inches long!! He is in the 90 percentile of both his weight and height. Looks like we're going to have us a big boy! Dr. Bunetner said that he looks great and that his ears have already gotten much better since last week! Thanks again to Nana for taking him today so that mommy could get some work done at the office. His next appointment will be in 3 months for his 9 month checkup!

Colton and I going to a costume party tonight at the Ray's house. Be on the lookout for Big Al pictures tomorrow!!

Bama Football

We went to Adam and Charity's house Saturday night to watch the Bama vs. Tenn game. We had a wonderful time eating snacks and watching Bama run all over Tennessee. Here are a few pictures from that night!

The Cutest Bama Fan!!

On the way to watch the game!!

His new shoes mommy bought him!

Colton and I left after half time because it was time for his bath and bed time. Here are a few pictures of him when we got home, watching the game with daddy must have wore him out!

6 Months Old

Colton at 6 months

Nicknames: Coal Train, Bugger, Brother

Here are some highlights from the past month:
  • He has added the following foods: sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, green beans, green peas & a pear/pineapple mix fruit. He loves everything and he does a great job opening his mouth when I am feeding him, but if I’m not fast enough for him he will let me know!
  • Loves Mickey Mouse!!
  • Has started skipping two bottles a day since we added vegetables for lunch. (He will no longer take his noon and 6pm bottle because he would rather have his baby food.)
  • He is now waking up in a great mood. Before he would wake up crying, but now he is smiling and laughing when he gets up in the morning.
  • Can lift his belly with his toes and his fingers when he is laying on his stomach. It literally looks like he is doing a pushup.
  • Is drinking his apple juice out of a sippy cup.
  • Still loves his pacifier, but not nearly as much as last month.
  • Loves Millie!! Whenever Colton sees Millie he just smiles and giggles. Millie simply adores him as well. Even when Colton grabs at her hair, Millie remains calm and gently pulls away.
  • Smiles and Laughs all the time!!
  • He is now going to sleep around 8:30 pm every night and usually is up by 6:30 or 7am.
  • He still has no teeth. But is chewing on everything that he can put in his mouth.
  • He now will reach for his bottle or his sippy cup when I hold it in front of him.
  • He gets so excited when he sees his bottle!! Just starts smiling and dancing.
  • Loves to drink out of a regular cup. He loves sweet tea and water!
  • He is doing great sitting up by himself. He will now sit up for long periods of time watching TV and playing with his toys.
  • He has become very nosy lately and wants to be aware of everything that is going on around him.
  • He has not started crawling but he is now rocking back and forth on his knees and his hands.
  • He wears size 3 diapers and is in 6 to 9 month clothing.
  • Takes 24 to 30 ounces of formula a day.

Sunday Morning -- Time for Church!

Colton fell sound asleep before we left for church last Sunday. Here are a few pictures of him taking a quick nap on the floor.

We didn't even notice that Big Daddy and Colton matched for church one Sunday until after we got home from eating lunch.

Watching Cartoons

Colton loves to watch Cartoons. He especially loves Mickey Mouse. Here are a few pictures of him one morning while he was watching TV.

Tailgating Friends

Here is a picture of a few of our friends before the Alabama vs. Kentucky football game. Chris and I have been so blessed to have such wonderful friends. We really don't know what we would do without so many supportive and caring friends!!! Thanks to you all!!

Chris is finally feeling a little better!

Chris is still at home today but he is feeling much better!! Colton is doing great as well, as long as we can get the coughing under control. He doesn't seem to be pulling at his ears anymore, so hopefully the medicine is working on his ear infection!! Hopefully by the weekend the Whitaker household will be back to normal.

Update on the Boys!!

We just left the doctors office and Colton has an ear infection in his right ear. Dr. Buennter gave him so medicine and is going to recheck him next Thursday when he goes in for his 6 month checkup. Chris on the other hand is having a rough day. Steve called him in some medicine and hopefully that will help him feel better this afternoon so that he can get some rest. Keep us all in your prayers. I hope it's not a stomach bug that we are all going to get. I will post updates tomorrow on the Whitaker Boys again.

What a Night!!

Chris finally made it home from Ireland late Monday night after many hours on the plane and at the airport. We were so glad that he made it home, and Colton just smiled when he saw his daddy yesterday morning. Chris had a wonderful time on the trip and I will post some pictures ASAP. He said that it was absolutely beautiful!!

On a little sad note though, the Whitaker household had a rough night last night. Chris was up all night last night sick (either Food Poison or the Stomach Bug) and poor little Colton is getting a cold. I'm going to run him to the doctor this morning to see if they can give him some medicine because he can't stop coughing and sneezing and his poor nose won't stop running. Colton though is a trooper and it hasn't even slowed him down at all!! I'll post an update later after the doctors appointment. Please say a prayer for Chris and Colton this morning in hopes that they will both get to feeling better soon!!

Bye Bye Infant Carseat!

Colton is only 5 1/2 months old and he is already out growing his infant car seat. Within the next month, mommy is going to have to get a new one for the car. Enjoy the pictures!

Eating Everything!!

Here is a picture from the other night after I fed Colton his cereal and applesauce. He saw that some fell on the top of his seat, so he decided he would eat it off of there. He doesn't want to waste anything!!

Pumpkin Patch

Last Saturday we went to Calendonia, MS for Jaidyn's 1st Birthday Party (One of Chris' friend's little girl). Her birthday party was at a pumpkin patch and it was so much fun! They had so many activities for the kids to do, and Colton just loved watching everything around him.

Colton was drooling, so little Miss Jaidyn wanted to wipe it off of his mouth.
Isn't she precious!

Chris arrived in Ireland

I talked to Chris this morning and he arrived in Dublin, Ireland this morning. They are currently 6 hours ahead of us, so it was noon when he called me this morning at 6am. I can't wait till he gets home so that I can post pictures for you all to see. Thanks again for the prayers! Also, if anyone is interested in a CD of the new group, please let me know. Early Morning Giggles

I woke up this morning at 4:30am to the sound of a little boy laughing. When I walked into Colton's room, he was wide awake in his crib just laughing and squealing. Since it was so early, I turned on his mobile and he went back to sleep. Thank goodness! But, I must say, that it was one of the best mornings ever!

Visit with Nana and Big Daddy

Last night, we went to Nana and Big Daddy's house for dinner. We had vegetable soup, cornbread and PB&J Sandwiches. It was wonderful!! While over there, Colton started lifting his belly up with his arms and his toes. I'm sure that now it won't be much longer till he starts crawling. He is starting to figure a little more out every day. After dinner, we headed back home to feed Colton, bathe him and get him in the bed. The poor little boy was worn out from his visit that he didn't even finish his bottle and he fell sound asleep while taking it. He's still sleeping great and is loving his room!

Weekend Fun

This past weekend, Chris and I were lucky enough to go to the Bama/Kentucky game. We had a great time tailgating with some friends and then heading over to the game. I wasn't looking forward to going to the game, but ending up going with Chris because he really wanted to go. We actually had a great time cheering on the Tide and enjoying our nachos, drinks and strawberry chills! Even though Bama nearly loss the game, it ended up being a great day! Colton spent the day with Nana while we were gone and she said that they had a great day!

Colton is changing so much lately and it's breaking my heart that he is not a little baby any more. Chris and I took him Friday night to the mall and he wore shoes for the first time. He was the cutest little boy, all decked out in his blue jeans, shirt and tennis shoes! He has now added carrots and squash to his list of foods that he eats. And I haven't found one single thing that this child won't eat. We're going to try some more fruits this week and maybe some peas and green beans next week. I'll keep you all posted.

Have a wonderful week!!!

Trying to Crawl!

Colton loves to play on his tummy, and he is wanting so bad to crawl. If he could just figure how to lift his little belly off the ground, I believe he could take off. Maybe it won't be to much longer until he is crawling around every where.
