6 Months Old

Colton at 6 months

Nicknames: Coal Train, Bugger, Brother

Here are some highlights from the past month:
  • He has added the following foods: sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, green beans, green peas & a pear/pineapple mix fruit. He loves everything and he does a great job opening his mouth when I am feeding him, but if I’m not fast enough for him he will let me know!
  • Loves Mickey Mouse!!
  • Has started skipping two bottles a day since we added vegetables for lunch. (He will no longer take his noon and 6pm bottle because he would rather have his baby food.)
  • He is now waking up in a great mood. Before he would wake up crying, but now he is smiling and laughing when he gets up in the morning.
  • Can lift his belly with his toes and his fingers when he is laying on his stomach. It literally looks like he is doing a pushup.
  • Is drinking his apple juice out of a sippy cup.
  • Still loves his pacifier, but not nearly as much as last month.
  • Loves Millie!! Whenever Colton sees Millie he just smiles and giggles. Millie simply adores him as well. Even when Colton grabs at her hair, Millie remains calm and gently pulls away.
  • Smiles and Laughs all the time!!
  • He is now going to sleep around 8:30 pm every night and usually is up by 6:30 or 7am.
  • He still has no teeth. But is chewing on everything that he can put in his mouth.
  • He now will reach for his bottle or his sippy cup when I hold it in front of him.
  • He gets so excited when he sees his bottle!! Just starts smiling and dancing.
  • Loves to drink out of a regular cup. He loves sweet tea and water!
  • He is doing great sitting up by himself. He will now sit up for long periods of time watching TV and playing with his toys.
  • He has become very nosy lately and wants to be aware of everything that is going on around him.
  • He has not started crawling but he is now rocking back and forth on his knees and his hands.
  • He wears size 3 diapers and is in 6 to 9 month clothing.
  • Takes 24 to 30 ounces of formula a day.
