Weekend Fun in Northport!

Colton and I had a wonderful weekend while daddy was out of town singing. Since I'm off on Friday's, we met LeAnn for lunch and ran a few errands around town. It was great getting to see LeAnn and we all had a wonderful lunch at Jalapenos. Colton and I then headed home for an afternoon nap! Friday night, we had dinner with mom and dad and we went swimming for a little bit. Colton loved the pool, however, it was like bath water because it was so hot outside! Saturday we played inside most of the day because of the heat! We headed to Big Daddy's and Nana's house that afternoon for a quick dip in the pool, before I had to get ready for a wedding. Sunday we had a fun filled day at Lance and Stephanie's house with our Sunday School Class and then we went to McCalla, AL for a party for Gabe's Hope, Inc. It was a long weekend but we had so much fun and we are already looking forward to this Friday!

Colton loved the Fire Truck at Lance and Stephanie's House... I'll post more pictures of the Sunday School Class party soon!

14 Months Old!

14 Months Old

I really can't believe my little baby is already 14 months old! This time last year I was sitting at home rocking him to sleep and enjoying every minute of having a newborn. Now, I chase a little boy all around the house all day long!! Haha!! He is into everything these days and loves to explore the house. He has found the toilet, the toiler paper, the trash cans, the cleaning supplies cabinet, the laundry room, the dishwasher and pretty much everything else there is for a 1 year old to find! He is still a happy little boy who loves his mommy and daddy sooooo much! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful little boy in our life!

Highlights from the past month:

  • His favorite toys this past month: Fire truck, Slide, Musical Piano, Cars, and his Rocket,
  • He still loves to play chase with daddy.
  • He can give you five.
  • He loves to play with bubbles.
  • He went to see daddy sing for the 1st time this month!
  • He loves to chase Millie around the house when she is in a playful mood.
  • He loves to give kisses!
  • He loves to go swimming and will jump off the side of the pool when you count to three.
  • His favorite foods this month: Enchiladas (from Taco Casa), French Fries, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Mac & Cheese, Corn on the Cob
  • He can now hold his own fork and feed himself. (He doesn’t like anyone to help him with this. He is VERY independent.)
  • He is attached to all grandparents and will cry if they leave our house.
  • He still loves to go outside!! He loves to go for rides in his car and he loves to swing. He now cries when we have to go inside after playing outside.
  • He is baby talking all the time, however he is only saying “mama” right now but I have noticed that he is starting to saw a few other sounds as well.
  • If he gets frustrated or if he is mad he will say “yayayayaa”
  • He wears size 4 diapers, is in 12-24 month clothing and wears a size 5 shoe.
  • He sleeps from about 8:00pm till about 7:30am. When Chris is home, he likes to snuggle in the bed with him when mommy leaves for work.

Swimming and Blueberries!

Last Saturday we went to Big Daddy and Nana's house to go swimming. After a quick dip in the pool, Mom, Colton and I went over to Janice and Dwaynes house to pick some blueberries. Colton enjoyed a snack while Mom and I were busy picking the berries!

Flower Bed Guests

Last Friday morning when we were getting ready to head to the zoo, I walked outside to see some neighborhood visitors in our flower bed. Yes, three ducks were playing in our flower bed. They scared me to death!! After I got Chris and Colton to come outside, Chris ran them off and we noticed that they had dug a hold in the flower bed. Hopefully they weren't laying eggs!

Sunday Singing

Dad, Mom, Colton and I went Sunday morning to hear Chris sing in Carbon Hill, Alabama. He doesn't sing in Alabama much, so we were all excited to hear him Sunday morning. It made it even more special that it was Father's Day! The church didn't have a nursery so Colton had to sit in big church with us and listen to Chris sing. I was a little afraid at how he would act because he goes to the 1 year old class at Five Points and has never been in regular church before. However, he did great and sat through most of the singing just staring at Chris and looking at everyone else. He did get restless at the end, so we went outside to play and to run around a little bit. After the singing, Colton went home with Big Daddy and Nana so that I could travel with Chris to his next singing that night. It's a good thing Colton didn't come, because it lasted 3 hours and we didn't get home until around midnight. It was so nice to spend the day with Chris though. I'm sooooo proud of him and I am so blessed that God has placed such a wonderful Christian man in my life. He is amazing!! Also, I checked off #31 of my 101 things in 101 days!

Crystal Light Challenge

I have decided to join the Water Way Challenge after reading about a couple of bloggers who have made the change as well. Crystal Light is launching the challenge in order to try and get more women to drink 8 glasses of water a day. So, within the next few weeks I will update you all on my progress!

Trip to the Zoo!

Chris and I took Colton to the Zoo last Friday morning. We left Tuscaloosa around 8am because we knew that if we went later on in the day, it would be too hot. Good thing we left early, because around noon it was extremely hot!

We arrived at the B'Ham Zoo around 9:30am. Colton was such a good little boy and he just stared in every direction taking everything in.

Our first stop was to visit the flamingos!

The flamingos were by far his favorite at the Zoo!

Checking out the Peacock with daddy!

Camel.. They had camel rides at the zoo, however we decided to wait to ride them another day!

We arrived at the Tiger exhibit just in time for feeding. They had dropped huge piles of hamburger meat all over the grass and rocks for the Tiger to eat.

After a while of riding in the stroller, Colton was ready to get out!! Here he is running down the sidewalk to the next exhibit.

Daddy and his boy!

We all had so much fun at the Zoo and we are looking forward to going back sometime soon either at the end of the summer or at the beginning of Spring next year. We didn't realize it until we left that we completely forgot to see the elephants. How could we miss them?? And I also saw on their map that they have a Splash Pad with fountains for kids to play in. So next time we will make sure to see the elephants and play in the fountains!!

Growing up Way Too Fast!!

I fixed Colton some Mac & Cheese and Chicken Fingers the other night for dinner and he loved everything! The child literally ate 2 chicken fingers and a whole bowl of Mac & Cheese!! This was the first time that I let him try to hold the fork by himself and he did such a good job. (Notice that he is using his left hand) I can't believe how fast he is growing up!!

Beach Trip

Colton, Dad and I headed to the beach last Thursday night to meet Nana down there. It was a very relaxing trip and we spent most of the time swimming in the pool, eating lots of yummy food, taking naps, and just hanging out in the condo. Chris wasn't able to make the trip this time, but we are looking forward to our family beach trip in August!!

We left our house around 5:30pm Thursday night and we made it to Orange Beach around 10:00pm. Colton did great and only got fussy a few times. He watched Mickey Mouse and Veggie Tales on his DVD player pretty much the whole ride down there.

Walking on the beach with Big Daddy. He wasn't sure of the sand and the ocean but hopefully next time he will like it better.

Beach Boy!

Nana was working at a Dental Convention down at the beach, so Colton wanted to make her proud and brush his own teeth! He really is growing up so fast!!

We headed over to Cantonment FL Saturday morning to visit Aunt Violet, Kerri, Melinda, Keith, Maren and Madison. We haven't seen them in a while, so it was nice to spend the morning with them. Colton loved playing with the girls and we are looking forward to hopefully visiting with them again in August.

For lunch, we stopped at the Crap Trap on the Beach. Colton loved his snack of cheese puffs while we waited for lunch to be served.

Blue Eyed Blue

Big Daddy ordered Colton some corn on the cob (one of his favorites) and he was so excited!!

Eating his corn on the cob! YUMMY!!
