Date Night

Chris and I are going on a much needed date tonight, while Colton spends the night with Big Daddy and Nana. We're going to eat at Iguana Grill and if we feel up to it, we may even catch a movie. We're so excited about getting to spend some time together before he heads out in the morning for singing.

Play Time!

Last night, Colton and I played in the playroom while daddy ran to Wal-Mart to grab a few items. He is getting so good about playing by himself in his playroom now. He loves all his toys! Here is a picture of my little boy smiling... So big!!

I got a kick out of this... He used the bottom of this toy as a chair. I'm surprised that it didn't fall over on him.

Weekend Fun

Chris, Colton and I had a very fun relaxing weekend this past week. Friday was my last Friday off of work this summer, so we spent the day together eating lunch at Red Lobster and running a few errands around town. We met up with some friends, Zack and Kara McGill in B'Ham Friday night to eat dinner at Johnny Rockets. It was so good to see Zack and Kara, since it's been almost a year since we've seen them.

Colton loved spending the day with mommy and daddy! He was such a good little boy all day long, until we had to wake him up to go to B'ham. After that, he was in a bad mood until we put him in the car and turned on Mickey Mouse for him to watch while we headed to B'Ham.

He loves the Mickey Mouse car that Zack and Kara got him for his birthday! It counts to 20 backwards if you roll it backwards and it counts to 20 if you roll it forward. He loves to push it around the house.

Chris had to head out Saturday morning, so Colton and I spent the day relaxing around their house. We made a trip to Sams and then we played at home all day long! Sunday morning, we decided to go to early church and I am glad to say that Colton did much better in Sunday School. He didn't cry at all when I dropped him off, which is much better than the weeks before!

After church, Colton played in his playroom! He loves this train that Aunt Donna, Uncle Dennis, Carson, Connor and Carter got him.

This is what the playroom looked like after a few minutes of playing!

Where is Colton?? He also found his curtains in his room this weekend. He loves to hide behind them and twirl up in the curtains. He laughs so loud when he does this.

We both took an afternoon nap Sunday afternoon and then headed over to Heath and LeAnn's house for a baby shower for Courtney and Lauren. We ate some yummy BBQ and Colton played with Tucker. (Colton and Tucker loved Heath and LeAnn's cats)

Colton was pretty much statisifed at the party as long as he could eat the ice out of this bucket.

Reaching for another piece of ice!

Reading his Mickey Mouse book at Heath and LeAnn's house.

Tucker and Colton playing... They loved Willow (Heath and LeAnn's cat). Poor cat was probably glad to see us leave.

We headed home around 8:30 (Colton fell sound asleep on the way home!). I stayed up and watched a few shows on the DVR that I had tapped and Chris got home just as I was heading to bed. It was so nice to have him home before I fell asleep

15 Months!!

15 Months Already?? The months are going by faster and faster the older that Colton gets. Chris and I have had are hands full this month for sure!! Colton is exploring everything and is testing us every second of every day! He loves to explore the house and we often find him getting into every single thing around the house. He is the sweetest little boy and I really don't remember what my life was like before I had him. He brings so much joy to our lives!

Highlights from the past month:
  • His favorite toys this past month: Lawn Mower, Fire Truck, Trucks and Cars, Books and Puzzles
  • His favorite foods this month: Enchiladas (from Taco Casa), French Fries, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Mac & Cheese, Corn on the Cob and Oranges. He LOVES Mandarin Oranges, and will eat a whole can of them at one time.
  • He can now hold his own fork and feed himself, however he does have trouble getting the food on the fork by himself. (He doesn’t like anyone to help him with this. He is VERY independent.)
  • He is very attached to Mommy! He wants mommy pretty much any time that he is sleepy or hurt.
  • He loves to play chase around the house.
  • He loves to give sugar and "high five".
  • He loves playing with Millie. He will now throw her the ball while playing with her.
  • He loves to twirl around in the curtains in his bedroom. He recently found these within the past few days and he thinks it's the funniest thing!
  • I can now put him in his crib around nap time and he will fall asleep on his own.
  • He still loves to go outside!! He loves to go for rides in his car and he loves to swing.
  • He throws a fit anytime the front or back door in our house is shut. He wants to go outside all the time and if we shut the door, he throws himself on the floor and cries.
  • He is baby talking all the time, however he is only saying “mama” right now.
  • He has started pointing at different things throughout the house, as if he wants us to look at it or that he wants to know what it is.
  • He loves airplanes! Since we live so close to the airport, we pretty much see an airplane everyday while walking around the neighborhood. As soon as he hears the airplane, he starts looking up in the air and will point at it once he finds it.
  • He has learned how to open the toilet seat in the bathroom. (Problem!)
  • He likes to throw everything that he can find into the bathtub and turn on the water. (Yes, I have found clothes, lotion bottles, paper, etc. soaking wet in the tub) Needless to say, we now keep our bathroom doors closed at all times.
  • He is testing us all the time! When you tell him "no", he will look at you to see if you are watching him, and most of the time he will repeat his action again. If we pop him on the hand he will smile and laugh at us, needless to say he gets in trouble all the time! I'm dreading those terrible 2's!!
  • He wears size 4 diapers, is in 12-24 month clothing and wears a size 5 shoe.
  • His Daily Schedule: Wake up around 7am, Breakfast @ 8am, Plays and watching cartoons until around 9:30 or 10am, Nap Time till 11:30am, lunch, Play time until around 2pm. Nap Time till 4pm, Dinner around 6pm, Bath Time @ 7:30pm, Bedtime @ 8pm.

Weekend Fun... Singing, Swimming, and Frozen Treats!

We have had a very long weekend but we all had so much fun. Thursday during the day Colton spent the day with Aunt Donna and the boys. He had so much fun playing with Carson, Connor and Carter. Aunt Donna let Colton have his first Frozen Cherry Limeade and he loved it!!

Thursday afternoon, Cousin Carter took Colton swimming at Big Daddy's and Nana's pool. They had soooo much fun! (Looks like Colton is not much smaller than Carter in these pictures)

Colton also got to spend the night with Aunt Donna Thursday night as well, so that I could go to Chris' singing in Clanton, AL. The singing was great, however we didn't get home and in the bed until after 1am.
Friday morning, I picked up and then we headed to Hardees for breakfast. (Our weekend treat every once in a while) Colton loves their country potatoes and I love the gravy and biscuits!! After breakfast, Colton played in his playroom, watched cartoons and took a morning nap while Chris and I got ready to head to Prattville for another singing that night. We all loaded up in the car around 2pm and stopped by Sonic for lunch. Chris and I were craving Pickle O's, so we got 2 orders and some Burgers for lunch. YUMMO!!
Colton did great driving down to Prattville. He watched Mickey Mouse pretty much the entire ride down there, however, we got lost and we drove around Prattville for at least an hour and that's when he started getting upset. Poor little guy just wanted out of his car seat! We finally found the church an hour and 15 minutes later! Colton played a little bit before the singing, thank goodness, because he fell sound asleep about 2 songs into the singing. He slept the entire singing, so I actually got to enjoy the singing without having to worry about him misbehaving. After the singing, Chris and I grabbed dinner (yes, around 10:30pm... I'm really not fit for life on the road) and headed home. Colton slept the entire ride back and we pulled in our driveway around 1am. Unfortunately, Colton woke up while I was putting him to bed, so needless to say we didn't get to sleep until 2am.
Saturday, we played at the house all morning long and said goodbye to Chris (he had a singing in Cleveland, TN and GA). We had a wedding to go to Saturday afternoon, so Colton got to stay with Chris' parents, which he loved!! We slept in Sunday morning, and headed over to Big Daddy's and Nana's house so that they could watch Colton while I ran into town to work at Gracefully Done. After I finished working, I got Colton and we pretty much spent the day playing and watching TV at home. It was such a relaxing day!!

Northport Baptist Mom's Morning Out

I enrolled Colton this past Tuesday for Mom's Morning Out at Northport Baptist Church. He will only be going every Monday from 8:30am-Noon, but I'm soooo excited about it. He has become very attached to Chris and I, so I'm hoping this will help. I went to Northport Baptist Day Care when I was little, so it's going to be really neat to take Colton there this fall.

#93 off list Completed!!

Chris on TBN

Check out these clips of Chris with Mike and Kelly Bowling on TBN.

Cute as a Button!!

Is he not just the cutest little boy ever??

Sunday Afternoon Fun.... Fountains!

Mom and I took Colton Sunday to the fountains around Northport and Tuscaloosa Sunday afternoon. We thought that he would just love them since he loves the swimming pool, however he wasn't too sure of them. He didn't want to get in the middle of them, BUT he did want to run all over the park!! He loves to play chase now so he wanted mommy to chase him that afternoon. We did get a few cute pictures of him in the fountains though.

Running through the fountains! Wide Open!

Checking the water out.

Playing chase with mommy

He found a cute little friend while we were playing

Cutest little boy ever!!!!!

Cartoons and Aunt Val

Last Friday, Aunt Valerie came into town to spend the day with Colton and I. While we were waiting on her to get in town, Colton and I watched his favorite cartoons. (Check out the pictures below) For lunch, we all got to meet Nana at Walton's for lunch. After lunch, we headed to Sam's and then we went for an afternoon swim at Big Daddy and Nana's house. Aunt Val couldn't believe how good Colton can swim. It really is amazing!! I've never seen a baby swim like he does.

Watching Cartoons... He loves Mickey Mouse, Handy Mandy, My Friends Tigger and Pooh, and pretty much anything else on the Disney Channel.

Corn on the Cob!

Colton loves corn on the cob. The other night for dinner, I fixed him some corn and he loved it. It literally was gone within about 2 minutes. He has finally gotten the hang of rotating it around to get every piece of corn.

1st Kids Meal

Colton has his first kids meal yesterday at Jason's Deli for lunch. He had a grilled cheese sandwich and fruit! I can't believe that he is old enough to order his own meal. He is growing up way too fast!

Isn't he just the cutest little boy!

Afternoon Walk and Pasta!

Colton and I went last night walking around the neighborhood with Sarah and precious little Brynn. Colton loves to ride in the car, so he was happy the entire ride and honked his horn a few times throughout the ride. This was our first trip around the neighborhood with Brynn and we are looking forward to many more walks and rides after dinner with her and Sarah.

For dinner last night I fixed Hambuger Helper for Colton and I since Chris was out of town in Nashville. Colton loved it!! He is doing great using his fork and spoon and he doesn't want mommy to help him at all. (We have noticed that he uses his left hand most of the time)

Chris went to Nashville to record a singing for TBN. It's going to be on Friday night if anybody wants to watch it.

Prayer Request

Please say a special prayer for my cousin, Jessica who is currently in Hungary. She has been sick for a few days and she needs prayer. Please visit her website here.

Backyard Fun on the 4th of July!

Chris, Colton and I had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. Chris was home Friday, so we all headed to town to do some shopping and to eat lunch at McAlisters Deli. Colton was wonderful the entire afternoon! We got a new umbrella stroller at Target and Colton loves to ride in it. He hates to ride in the other stroller, so now I'm actually looking forward to shopping trips with him more often. We decided on a pizza for dinner and Colton loved it as well! He is starting to be such a good eater! He will now try pretty much anything that we are eating.

Saturday, Chris had to sing in Phenix City at a 4th of July Singing, so Colton and I just stayed at the house and played outside all morning long. We finally decided to head over to Nana and Big Daddy's house Saturday afternoon to go swimming. Colton loved that idea! He loves to go swimming and he actually thinks that he is swimming by himself. He kicks his legs and arms the whole time he is in the water and he just smiles the entire time. We let him go under water a few times this weekend and he looks like a little fish swimming under water. He holds his breath when he goes under and just smiles so big when he comes up out of the water. I've never seen a baby swim like he can, it's amazing!! Mom cooked dinner
Saturday night and it was sooooo yummy!! BBQ Ribs, Squash, Potatoes, Corn and Cole Slaw!

Sunday morning, we headed to church for Sunday School. Poor Colton hates his Sunday School Class and starts screaming as soon as I walk in the door to the classroom. I didn't think I was going to be able to leave him in there because he was so upset, but Mrs. Cally came to the rescue and calmed Colton down so that I could go to my Sunday School Class. Hopefully this will get better. He is going through a phase where he wants mommy and daddy all the time! I love it at times, but it can be frustrating. I'm looking at putting him in a Mom's Morning Out Program this fall, so hopefully that will help. Cross your fingers for us!

Here are a few pictures from this past weekend. We all had so much fun!!
So much fun!
Playing outside on the 4th. Yes, I know he doesn't match but I didn't want him to get sunburned.

Just a swinging...

Checking out the sprinkler...Thinking if he should go play in it...

He decided to play in it after a while.

Playing with his water table.

He loves this dump truck!

Time to go inside?

Check out those precious curls!!

I love this boy!!!
