It's hard to believe that it's been exactly one year since I found out that I was expecting. The time goes by so fast!!! I found out last September 13th, while Chris was gone to the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. I didn't want to tell him over the phone, so I kept it a secret for 3 days until he got home. When he arrived home that Sunday night I had a huge poster saying "Congrats!!" with blue and pink balloons and a mug saying "World's Best Dad" that I had painted at All Fired Up. I remember hearing Chris scream when he came home that night at 2am in the morning. We later celebrated the next night going to eat dinner and then we told our parents, family and friends the next week after our first doctors appointment. It was one of the happiest moments in our lives and I will never forget the feeling that I had when I took that pregnancy test. God blessed us so much that week and he continues to bless us more and more each day.

We're heading to the Hospital Friday!!!
I went to the doctor yesterday and Dr. Myers said that she wanted to go ahead and induce me Saturday morning. My blood pressure was higher than normal so Chris and I are going in tomorrow night for them to monitor by blood pressure and then they will induce me Saturday morning. She said that Colton should arrive either sometime late Saturday afternoon or even possibly into Saturday night. Please keep us all in your prayers. We can't wait to see Colton and to introduce you all to him. We will post pictures as soon as possible!!!

4 more weeks!
I went to the doctor yesterday and Dr. Myers said that everything is still going right along schedule. She thinks that Colton has already turned and should be about 6lbs. I know, 4 more weeks to go and already 6 lbs. She said not to worry though, that she normally over estimates and that it doesn't mean that I will have a 9 lb baby. Anyways, I head back in 2 weeks for another Doctor's Appointment if I can just make it till then.
Colton is still moving around all the time and doesn't let me sleep much at night. I guess this is God's way in preparing me for his arrival and all the many nights awake!
His nursery is finally ready for him and it looks great thanks to my mom (Nana)and my sister-in-law (Aunt Valerie) who helped me this past weekend wash his clothes and organize his nursery. All it needs now is baby Colton!
Millie on the other hand has become a mommy's baby and wants to be right up underneath me all the time! I actually woke up the other night and she was laying on my stomach sound asleep.
Please keep us all in your prayers!! We are so ready for Colton to be here!!
I'll try to post some pictures soon, we've just been busy trying to get everything ready in case he decides to come early!!

Great Report!
My doctors appointment went great yesterday. Dr. Myers said again that everything is looking great. I head back in 2 weeks and then I'll start going for my weekly checkups.
My weekly baby update said that Colton should be about 4.5 lbs and about 18 inches long by now. He's growing more and more considering that I've gained 5 lbs within the past 2 weeks!! I didn't even know that was possible. Haha!! The update also stated that Colton's lungs should be maturing along with his central nervous system.
Chris and I are getting more excited each and every day!! Please keep us all three in your prayers over the next few weeks, I'm sure it's going to be a very stressful couple of weeks!

6 More Weeks!
So I'm beginning to stress out!! It just hit me this morning that Colton could decide to come at any given moment and I have so much stuff to still do. His nursery is still in the works, but hopefully we will have it complete by next weekend. Many thanks goes out to Chris, my parents, Susan Richardson and Pam Robinson for all the help on the nursery!! It looks great so far! I head to the doctor again tomorrow afternoon, so I'm hoping that everything is still right along schedule! I'll post another update sometime this weekend and hopefully I can get some more pictures up if I have some extra time.

Pregnancy Update: 32 Weeks
I’m 32 weeks today and only 8 more weeks to go! My weekly update on Colton said that he should weigh about 4 lbs and should be about 17 inches long by now. It also stated that he should be gaining a third of his birth weight during the next seven weeks.
I went to the doctor yesterday and everything is looking great! Dr. Myers said that I’m right along schedule and that my pregnancy so far has been text book perfect. I’ve been very lucky so far and hopefully the next few weeks will go smoothly as well.
Colton has been moving more and more each and every day. At times I think he could just kick his way out of my stomach because his kicks are so strong. Haha!! He’s a very active little baby in my belly, so I assume that he will be very active once he is born.
I’m heading back to the doctor in 2 weeks for another checkup. Please keep us all in your prayers!!

9 Weeks to Go!!!
It's hard to believe that in 9 short weeks, Colton will be here!! Chris and I are getting more and more excited each and every day!!
Thanks to my dad and Chris, Colton's room is painted and should be finished within the next few weeks. (I'll post some pictures on here in a few days.) They both did a great job and it looks so cute!!
I'm heading back to the doctor next Thursday for another checkup. Dr. Myers said last time that everything is looking great and that Colton is still right on schedule and should be arriving close to his due date of May 2nd. We are anticipating his arrival and can't wait for these last few weeks to be over with.
Thanks again for all the prayers and support. We love you all!

29 Weeks and Counting
I’m 29 weeks pregnant today! The time has flown by and it’s hard to believe that in 11 short weeks, Colton will be arriving. Over the past few days he’s been getting more and more active! If he is anything like he is now, let’s just say that we’re going to have a very active little boy! The other night, Millie was laying on my stomach and Colton started moving around and kicking. Millie just sat up and looked at me, not understanding at all what was happening in my belly. It was so funny!! Let’s just hope that when Colton gets home, that Millie will adjust to not being the baby of the family anymore. We’ve spoiled her since the first day we got her and she literally thinks that she is the queen of our house.
Chris and I, with the help from my parents, are going to finally start working on Colton’s nursery this weekend. (I’ll be sure to take some pictures to post on here when we are finished.) We finally decided on a print that’s light blue and green with elephants on it. It’s super cute!!
As we get closer and closer to Colton’s arrival, Chris and I feel more and more blessed that God chose us to be Colton’s parents. Words can not express how excited and how thankful we are that God blessed us with this baby. We’re looking forward to the next few weeks and also in sharing with all of our family and friends the birth of our son.

Baby Boy Whitaker Update (2/8/08)
I am finally entering into my 3rd trimester! Only 12 weeks until baby boy Whitaker arrives!!!
Chris and I have finally decided on a name for our little boy, Robert Colton (we’re going to call him Colton)!! He will be named after his grandfather and great grandfather and we think it’s a perfect name for our little one!
I went to the doctor yesterday and everything is looking great. Colton has a strong heartbeat and is moving around all the time now. I laugh and laugh when I see my belly move, from all of his kicks and somersaults. Chris can really get him going at night when he talks to him, it’s precious! He’s most active during the night after dinner while I’m lying on the couch, but over the past few weeks he’s getting more and more active during the day as well. He’s growing more and more each and everyday and it’s amazing how in just one day my belly can blossom!! I dreaded getting on that scale yesterday at the doctors (haha) but Chris informed me that it’s all baby weight. Let’s just say that over the past week that it looks like my belly has doubled! My weekly baby update told me this morning that Colton’s eyesight is maturing and that he can see light through the womb and that he may even turn towards a light now. He should also be about 2.5 lbs and 15 inches long. We’re heading back to the doctor in 2 weeks for another checkup, so be on the lookout for another update on Colton.
Have a wonderful weekend!! Thanks again for all the prayers. Chris and I are so lucky to have each and every one of you in our lives.
