Chris, Colton and I headed to Nashville after church, the Sunday after Christmas for a little family getaway. We made it to Nashville around 5pm and we checked into our hotel before heading to the Opry Mills Mall for some shopping and dinner. The mall was packed (we didn't realize that there was a bowl game in Nashville that night) so we decided to have Chili's in the food court for dinner. After dinner, I took Colton on his first ride on a Carousel (he loved watching it while we were eating), however he wasn't a big fan of riding on it. He wanted off only after a few minutes of riding on it. After dinner and a little shopping we headed back to the room to get some rest for the next day.
Monday morning we woke up, enjoyed breakfast at the hotel and then headed over to the mall again. We spent most of the morning shopping, going to the Disney Store and looking through the Bass Pro shop. We had reservations for lunch at the Rainforest Cafe, however, Colton fell sound asleep a few minutes before our reservations, so we canceled them and made them for later that night. Chris and I were starving though, so we headed back to the food court for some great burritos at the Blue Burrito Restaurant. Since I was having a hard time shopping with Colton, my sweet husband took Colton back to the room after lunch for an afternoon nap and to let Colton play some while I headed back to do a little bit more shopping. Once I got back to the hotel, Chris headed out to do some shopping of his own, while I read a book and Colton watched cartoons. It was so nice just to relax a few hours before heading to dinner at the Rainforest Cafe.
Mommy and Colton at dinner. Colton loved the restaurant!! If you've never been to one, it's wonderful!! They actually have animals located throughout the entire restaurant and it really does look and sound like you are in a Rainforest.

Colton checking everything out.
While waiting on our food, Colton played with his new radio that Santa had brought him.
Once our food arrived, Colton was ready to eat. He ate a few french fries, however before falling sound asleep!! He has done this time and time again at home while eating, but this was a first while eating at a restaurant. I think that the sound of the rainforest must have put him asleep.

After dinner, we met up with Tommy, one of our friends who lives in Nashville. Colton woke up very shortly after, so we all decided to go to the Gaylord Opry Hotel to see the Christmas lights. They were beautiful!! I've never seen so many Christmas lights in one place. I sure am glad that we had a local tour guide with us, because without Tommy, Chris and I would have been completely lost in the hotel. It's huge!
Colton ready to see the lights!
These were beautiful!
Only a few of the lights that they have hanging from the ceilings.

Tuesday morning we woke up, had breakfast at the hotel and headed back to the mall for lunch at the Aquarium Restaurant. Colton with his blankie. I've never seen a child chew on a blankie like he does. He loves it!

Colton loved looking at all the fish and sharks, however he was more into coloring on the coloring book that they brought him.
