Curly Hair after Bath Time

Fireplace No's

I've been trying to teach Colton what "No" means for the past few weeks. The child LOVES the fireplace and wants to cry to it every second that he can. He constantly wants to get the rocks out of the fireplace. Mommy, however thinks it's a bad idea and tells Colton "No" and pops his little hand. Colton then looks up at me and laughs and then starts toward the fireplace again. The next few pictures are some of Colton on his mission to play in the fireplace. Enjoy!!

Colton.. On his way to the fireplace...
He is almost there... Mommy tells him "No"

Colton gives mommy this look...

"Okay, Mommy... I'll move on to something else!"

"How bout the blinds to the living room door.."

Play Time turns into Nap Time!

Colton was playing in the playroom the other day and I noticed that all of the music from his toys had stopped playing. When I went in there to check on him, I found him sound asleep on the floor. He must have worn himself out playing so much! I didn't want to move him because I knew that he would wake up, so I let him take a nap just like he was. He ended up sleeping for at least another hour like this.

9 Months!

Colton at 9 months

Nicknames: Coal Train, Brother, Buddy
Can you believe that Colton is already 9 months old!! I know I say it every month, but he is growing up way too fast!! It’s hard to believe that he is only 3 short months away from being a year old. I remember this time last year, I was getting ready for all of my baby showers and we were finally getting his nursery finished. The time has just flown by!! Now, Chris and I have a very active 9 month old baby crawling all over the house! Let’s just say that our lives have changed so much since last year!

Here are some highlights from the past month:

  • We’re still trying to get Colton to eat some table food however; he hates the texture and would prefer to have baby food. I’m going to keep trying though, hopefully this month he will start to eat a little something else besides baby food.

  • He likes to eat baby cookies and cheese puffs.

  • Since crawling last month, Colton has gone from a very slow crawler to an extremely fast crawler.

  • He is pulling up on EVERYTHING!! Chris and I have to watch him constantly because he wants to pull up on everything. He loves to pull up on all of his toys in his playroom and he will pull up on every piece of furniture in our house. Don’t worry though, because we have baby proofed the house and we are watching him all the time. He has had some falls but nothing that mommy and daddy can’t help soothe.

  • Since last month, Chris and I are trying to teach Colton “NO”. Poor mommy and daddy are not having much luck though. When he gets into something that he shouldn’t be in, we say “no” and we pop his little hand. Colton doesn’t even cry and he just laughs at you and starts to get right back into what ever he shouldn’t be getting into.

  • He loves Millie’s water bowl, our fireplace and our mirror in the bedroom. It’s amazing how they love to play with things they shouldn’t be playing with. And it’s also amazing how they remember exactly where things are in our house. Whenever we’re in the living room, Colton always crawls to Millie’s water bowl, the fireplace and the mirror in our bedroom.

  • Hates getting his nose cleaned and face wiped off

  • Still loves bath time! He has been sitting up in the big tub all by himself for the past 2 months and he loves it. He loves to get on his tummy and he loves to splash the water!

  • He can now get to a sitting position from crawling.

  • He can stand up by himself while holding on to something.

  • He can walk holding onto two hands.

  • He still hasn't figure out how to sit down from standing. Most of the time when he is playing he will stand up, but after a while I hear him crying because he wants to sit down.

  • I have decided to teach him a few signs for sign language. I just started this the past few days so hopefully by next month he will be able to sign one or two things. He will be learning the signs for: eat, milk, juice, mommy, daddy, more, all done, I love you, dog.

  • He loves dogs!! Colton loves to chase Millie around the house. He thinks Millie is just the funniest thing, and Millie is so gentle with him. He also loves my parent’s dog, Bella. He laughs every time that he sees her.

  • He reaches for Mommy and Daddy all the time.

  • He has stopped kicking his right leg constantly like he has in the previous months.

  • Loves the remote control and the phone.

  • He has moved up into the crawler Sunday School class at church.

  • This past month, Colton had another ear infection in his right ear and he also had a cold. He was given 2 antibiotics and he took them like a champ! He is getting much better at taking medicine.

  • He has become so hard to change when he has a dirty diaper. He loves to roll over, kick his legs and throw a fit every time I try to change him.

  • He wears size 3 diapers and is in 6 to 9 month clothing.

  • Takes 24 ounces of formula a day. He also has cereal and fruit in the morning and at night time and one vegetable and fruit at lunch and dinner. He really loves to eat!

  • He sleeps from 7:30pm-6:30am! He is such a great sleeper!!

Prayers Needed

Please pray for these families. Both have babies that are in critical condition. I can't imagine having a baby that has to go through some of the things that these babies are going through. I'm so glad though that I serve a Mighty and Powerful God. One that is able to perform miracles each and every day.

Growing up way too fast!!

I can't believe that Colton will be 9 months old next Monday!! Where has the time gone? He is now becoming a little boy instead of a baby and it just breaks my heart. He is now crawling all over the place and he loves to play with all of his new toys. Oh... And he loves having his picture taken. He just smiles whenever I pull out the camera! What a cutie!!

Smiling for the camera!

Best Buds!!

Colton just LOVES Millie. Here are a few pictures of the two of them playing.

Love this face!!

Jumper and Walker

Here are a few old pictures from last month. We finally put the jumper up in our living room and Colton loves it! He doesn't like to stay in there very long, but it's been perfect for him to play in while mommy and daddy are eating dinner! It really is a lifesaver since he is crawling now!

He loves the walker that Faith gave him. This was a picture of his first time behind the walker! He did such a good job holding on to the handles and walking behind it!

Teething Boy!

Colton already has two bottom teeth but he has one top tooth that is almost cutting through the gums. Poor little boy isn't sleeping very good and he is constantly waking up in the middle of the night crying. He has always been such a great sleeper but here lately he wakes up around 4:30am instead of 7am and he is waking up numerous times at night. Since last week, Chris and I are having to putt him in our bed in the morning time to get him to go back asleep. Hopefully this won't last much longer. I just hate it for him, I can only imagine how painful it must be!
