Beach Trip Recap -- Day 1 & 2

Day 1
Saturday, August 15th

Mom, Colton and I left Northport around 10am and headed to the beach! Colton did great on the way down to the beach. He took a long nap from Tuscaloosa to Thomasville and we then decided to stop at McDonalds for lunch. After lunch, he watched cartoons on his DVD player until we made it to Foley.

Mom and I decided to do a little shopping, so we stopped at TJMax, Ross, Old Navy and Belk. For dinner, we went to Crackle Barrel and we then headed to the grocery store to grab a few items for breakfast and lunch the next day. We finally made it to the condo around 9pm. Colton was sound asleep as we pulled up!

Day 2
Sunday, August 16th

We woke up bright and early and had a wonderful breakfast (donuts and fruit) outside on the balcony. Colton loved sitting up in the big boy chair for breakfast!

Since it was a slight overcast, we decided to go to Old Time Pottery, to a few stores at the Outlets and then we had lunch at Sea & Suds. After lunch, we made a trip to the grocery store and headed back to the condo for an afternoon nap and then it was time for the pool!! Colton loved playing in the kiddie pool. He also liked swimming in the big pool and he never could make up his mind about which one he wanted to go to.

He really does think that he is a big boy!

He loves to swim!! He is just like a fish in the water!

After swimming, we headed to Target to grab a few books and snacks. And then it was back to the condo for dinner (Bacon and Tomato Sandwiches) and time for bed. Aunt Valerie finally made it to the condo later on that night.

Chicken Melts and Onion Rings

Saturday for lunch, I wanted to try a new recipe so I went to the grocery store to get everything I needed for Italian Chicken Melts and Onion Rings. I have recently found this amazing recipe site, Dijesstibles, and I have been wanting to try these two recipes. I must say, that the sandwich was WONDERFUL!! It tasted just like a sandwich that you would get at a gourmet deli shop. The onion rings weren't that bad either!

Preschool and Big Daddy

Colton went to school again today for the 4th time. Hopefully, he had a good day and he didn't get into too much trouble. I stayed home with him yesterday because Mr. Whitaker was sick, and let me tell you that we are about to hit the terrible twos!! He got so mad at me yesterday when I put his milk in a cup that he didn't want. I didn't give in though, and after a while he got his milk even though it was in the wrong cup.
Mr. Whitaker was still a little sick today, so Big Daddy took Colton to school this morning and he picked him up before lunch time. I met both of them at Taco Casa so that Colton could enjoy some sweet tea and his favorite, an enchilada! After lunch, he went back to Big Daddy and Nana's house for the afternoon. He loves Big Daddy and I am sure that Big Daddy will spoil him all afternoon long!

A Few Beach Pictures

Here are a few beach pictures from my mom's phone while we were at the beach a few weeks ago. My camera is still being fixed, so hopefully soon I will be able to post some pictures from the trip. Let me just tell you that I feel completely lost without my camera! I'm crossing my fingers that it will be fixed within the next few weeks!

Colton loved playing in the kiddie pool at the condo. We ended up going down to the pool every morning and afternoon. He would get so excited when he would figure out where we were going. He preferred the pool over the ocean this year! Maybe next year we can go to the beach more.

Going down to the pool. As soon as we walked out of our room he would run to the elevator and try to push the button for the elevators to open. Once at the bottom, he knew exactly where to go to get to the pools.

Eating an afternoon snack while watching cartoons on his DVD player.

2nd Day of Preschool

Nana got to take Colton to preschool this morning and she said that he wasn't too happy about going. Luckily, they got his attention when they pulled out the bubbles and she slipped away before he could notice. He fell asleep again in class today, but they said it wasn't long and that he was up for snack time. Imagine that!
We're heading to the doctor's office this afternoon for a checkup on his ears. Hopefully they are better. If not, we're heading to the ENT doctor to see if they can see what the problem is.

1st day of Preschool

Colton had his first day of preschool this morning. I wasn't sure how he would do when I dropped him off but he saw all of the toys and he immediately started playing. They said that he fell asleep around 9:30 and took about a 45 minute nap. Hopefully he will give up his nap time soon, so that he can play the entire time. They also took his class outside for a stroll around the church and they said that he loved it! I picked him up during my lunch break and dropped him off at The Whitakers. Mrs. Whitaker already had lunch ready for him and boy was he ready to eat! Hopefully Thursday will go good as well!

Wrestle Mania!!

Last night, Chris and I got Colton down on the floor to wrestle with him (It's one of his favorite things to do). If you've never seen him do this, it's hilarious!! I don't know what it is about mommy, but he comes full force at me! It's like he is a linebacker at a major football game. He thinks it's so funny when mommy and daddy fall flat down on the ground and he continues to wrestle with us. It's so funny, however he is 30 lbs!!!! and it doesn't feel so great everytime he falls on top of me. But, he is my sweet little boy and I just let him do it.
