Cades Cove Day Trip

While in Gatlinburg, we decided to head to Cades Cove for the day. Little did we know that a morning trip would turn into an entire day trip!

Before we headed out, Colton played with some toys and enjoyed breakfast at the cabin.

Once we finished breakfast, we all headed to the car for the long trip to Cades Cove. Since it had snowed in Gatlinburg a few days before we arrived, the scenery was beautiful!!!

Colton fell sound asleep while going there. He was enjoying a small snack of Wheat Thins and we noticed he was quite. Poor thing, fell sound asleep while eating a snack.

It took right at an hour to Cades Cove, but it was worth the drive once we saw how beautiful everything was.

Not long after we arrived, we spotted some deer in the woods.. Colton kept saying “Deer” and pointing to them.

Throughout the entire drive through the park, we saw about 10-20 deer and most of them were pretty close to our car. We also saw a ton of snowmen that other families had built as well.

My favorite part of the drive was seeing the old buildings and churches.

It took right at about 2-3 hours to make it through the entire park because some roads were closed due to the ice and snow. Thankfully, we had drinks and snacks in the car but we were still starving once we left.  We stopped by the park’s office and grabbed some more chips and drinks and then headed back to Gatlinburg to visit the aquarium and for dinner!
