1 Year Old!!!!

Colton at 12 Months (1 Year)

Highlighst from the past month:

• He is getting to be a better eater. He tried the following table foods this past month: chicken tenders, eggs, grits, toast, cookies, ice cream, pineapple, broccoli and chicken and dumplings.


• He loves Root Beer Floats! Thanks to Big Daddy, Colton loves to have Root Beer Floats when over at Big Daddy and Nana’s house.


• He doesn’t roll his eyes backwards anymore.


• He is drinking most of his milk and all of his juice out of his Sippy cup.


• His favorite snacks are cheese puffs, crackers, Gerber puffs and cheerios.


• He is walking all over the place and he is soooo brave!! He now prefers to walk over crawling and if he falls down, he will pull himself up on something close by and then start walking again.


• He has become extremely close to mommy!


• He claps his hands when he gets excited.


• If he sees someone leave the room that he is attached to, he will start to cry.


• He is playing great by himself. I really have noticed that over the past month that he will play so good by himself in his playroom. He finally understands how to work each toy.


• He loves books! He will sit and look at a book for the longest time.


• His favorite toys this past month: Animal Pop Toy @ Big Daddy and Nana’s House, Piano @ Big Daddy and Nana’s House, his slide, Laugh and Learn Puppy, Blocks, Blue Musical Elephant


• He has discovered toilet paper and the water facets in the bathroom. He loves to unroll the toilet paper and turn the water on and off. I’ve caught him many times doing both of these and now we always close the bathroom doors.


• He can throw a fit! Haha!! Especially when you tell him “no” or take a toy away from him.


• He hates to wear socks and shoes. He always takes them off in the car.


• He loves being outside!! He loves to go for rides in his car and he loves to swing.
  • He is talking all the time. He is only saying “mama” right now but I have noticed that he is starting to saw a few other sounds as well.


• He wears size 4 diapers and is in 12 - 24 month clothing and he weighs 26 lbs.


• Takes 12 - 18 ounces of formula a day. He is pretty much off his mid morning and afternoon bottle and now only takes 2 bottles a day. He has his morning bottle that he drinks in his Sippy cup and his night time bottle. He usually doesn’t even finish these two bottles but he is becoming attached to the nighttime bottle even if he only drinks an ounce.


• He sleeps from 7:30pm-6:00am! He is such a great sleeper
